Summary
Azulon’s father raised him to live decisively, deliberately, and dauntlessly. A good leader made choices, a great leader made decisions and went from there. Great leaders did not look back at their past decisions and question what could’ve have been, they focused on what will be. Strength resided in dealing with the problems at hand, not stewing over the problems with which you already dealt, even if you no longer believed you made the best decision.
On Azulon’s coronation day as the Crown Prince of the Fire Nation, two weeks after his eighteenth birthday, his father stood by his side above their people, where no one else could hear him:
“It is impossible to live without regrets,” he said as he looked out on the large crowd gathered for the ceremony, “but you must only have regrets with which you can live.”

Summary
Hakoda knows he's out of the loop when it comes to Zuko. After all, the first time he saw Sokka since leaving to fight in the war, Sokka mentioned the angry jerk with a ponytail that was chasing them.
The next time he saw his kids, Katara was furious with Zuko for apparently betraying her to help Azula take over Ba Sing Se.
Then, he gets shipped off to the Boiling Rock after the invasion and Sokka, disguised as a guard, tells him Zuko is there and helping.
Before Hakoda knows what's happening, Sozin's Comet has arrived and suddenly Zuko is the Fire Lord.
Zuko is now one of the most powerful people in the world, more powerful than Hakoda.
So why is the Fire Lord, a master firebender with unmatched sword skills, wary of a nonbender whose only real advantage is his height?
Hakoda has seen the dark looks on his children's faces (and yes, that includes Suki and Toph and Aang, and no, Hakoda doesn't know when or how that happened) whenever Ozai is mentioned. He's heard General Iroh sneer his brother's name.
And Zuko?
Hakoda has seen him flinch.- Language:

Summary
“ Normally on guard duty, Zuko would swivel his head slightly to compensate for his vulnerable blind side, but he was just too tired. He couldn’t help it that his body stilled and his head drooped. He made sure to keep his eyes open, but that didn’t do anything for 50% of his sight. The bandits noticed this.
They also noticed his scar, and how he had looked around like he couldn’t see out of his left eye. They saw how he stopped looking around as he got tired, and took their shot.“
Canon compliant one shot that takes place at the beginning of the Southern Raiders. The gaang gets attacked while Zuko is on guard duty and Katara is ableist to him on accident.
