The Kingdom of El is at peace.
It has been ten years since the White Martian Invasion and the formation of the League of Nations. Queen Lara is preparing to finally step down, and pass the crown to Prince Kal.
Prince Bruce has spent much of his time traveling abroad, returning to Gotham Castle intermittently for months or years at a time before venturing back out into the world.
This time is different. This time, he’s returning for an extended stay.
Or: the tale of two princes finding each other, and themselves.

Something about the Hotel is distinctly different.
She’s processing everything.. and she—Can’t put her finger on it..
She and Vaggi have a rare moment together, standing by the concierge stand.. watching everyone mingle and move throughout the Hotel—And—
Her dad pops up beside them, smiling as he pats the counter gently with his hands. “Charchar?”
Charlie snorts, smiling, “Yes, dad?”
“Would you mind it if we built a ceramics studio as a part of the Hotel?”
“Oh!” Her brows raise, and she’s pleasantly surprised, “That—That’s actually a really good idea!”
Her dad beams, “Okay! Thank you!”
And he’s scampering off—Charlie smiling fondly.. Vaggi elbows her gently, “He’s already covered in clay.”
“Is he..?”
”He’s dragging an entire kiln in with some of the other residents.”
”He is..”
”It’s on fire.”
”So it is..—“ Charlie blinks. “Wait.”
Vaggi snorts.
”Oh, shit—Oh fuck—! Dad—Dad! Careful of your wings!”
Bright laughter rumbles throughout the Hotel—Sinners, Residents and Guests alike, laughing and working hard together to carry different components inside as Lucifer flaps through and puts out the flame and guides them through—Smiling. So.. so brightly..
That is what’s different.. that’s what has been different.
Charlie.. laughs, shaking her head as she feels her smile getting bigger, watching her Dad throw his hands up as he catches a pile of clay from another person further down the line—Wings flapping quick as he goes ahead to bring it to another room, where everything else was headed..
Her dad’s happiness.. makes everything feel so much—Lighter.
Everyone just checking in.. everyone who’s been here a longer time—They’ve grown happier, and more relaxed, with her dad’s joyfulness and presence.. And she smiles, breathing out slowly, as Vaggi walks back up to her—Patting her shoulder.
Charlie puts her hand atop of her’s.. looking down at her, softening. Vaggi smiles sweetly, nodding, as she squeezes her gently.

Summary
Deerborne seems like a perfectly average town, but every season, The Dragon’s Voice comes down the mountain to collect their sacrifices to The Dragon, who lives atop the mountain. Every winter, that sacrifice is human.
This year, that sacrifice is Alastor.
He’s taken up the mountain and told that The Dragon will be bringing him to a town on the far side called Hazbin, which is to be his new home.
But before he can make the journey to Hazbin, he will be spending time in The Dragon’s cave, alongside The Dragon’s Voice, who introduces himself as Lu. Although Alastor has never been inclined to seek out friendships, or any other relationship, there’s something about Lu that changes that.
Too bad Alastor is going to be sent to live in Hazbin, and Lu must remain on the mountain with The Dragon, right?
