Summary
Something was wrong. Along with his wrinkled robes, Sannet’s eyes were wide and red behind round spectacles. His gray hair hung loosely over his face. When he saw Orikan his shoulders sagged.
“Master Orikan,” he said. “How may I help you?”
Orikan’s fury ebbed. “I…had an appointment with Trazyn earlier. He never appeared.”
Sannet looked as if he were about to faint. “I’m sorry. He isn’t…oh gods.”
Orikan hurried forward to catch the old man under his arm as he swayed. Sannet managed to balance himself, and Orikan dragged him into the foyer, onto the nearest bench.
“What in the name of all the stars is wrong?” Orikan demanded. “Trazyn sent me a message just last night. Where is he?”
Rather than answer, Sannet reached into his robe and removed a dirty piece of paper. Reluctantly, Orikan unfolded it and read the contents.
His heart sank.
“Idiot!"

Summary
“ Have you ever been in love, Orikan?”
Trazyn asked the question at the end of a highly choreographed dance that was apparently common in the middle of Tau operas. Orikan had not known—nor really cared—that the Tau even had opera. But apparently hollering about one’s emotions to music in front of an audience was an urge that transcended species.
So here Orikan was. With Trazyn, wearing their cloaking devices, standing on the top level of an amphitheater where the planet’s premier opera company was opening its season.
The worst part was that he wasn’t even surprised by the absurd question. Trazyn got sentimental when he watched mortal creatures going about their short little lives. Why not ask about something as inane as love?
“No,” Orikan said. “Obviously I have never been in love.”

Summary
Tell me, dear reader, have you ever had to convince a cat to come with you to the vet? It's not pleasant. There's lots of scratching involved. Some screaming, usually, on the part of both participants. Confined spaces don't work well with beings like that, even when it's for their own good.
Fortunately, Trazyn the Infinite is rather persuasive.
