Normally emergency stabilization happened by their well-trained exfil team, and everything else was dealt with back home at Phoenix medical.
This time was different. They were on a mission stateside. The mission was a success but everything else went to hell, including exfil being long gone. Jack had been left with a choice, the next chance to be extracted almost an hour away, local EMS only ten minutes.
It had been bad. Mac had been bad off, unconscious and bloodied and barely breathing…
