    Three troublemakers. Shoulder to shoulder. Hunched over a book in the Cloud Recesses Library.

    “A love potion?” Wei Wuxian read aloud.

    Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes. “Sounds fake.”

    “Very fake,” Huaisang agreed. “But at least the drawing is very pleasing to the eye. It makes me want to find the artist and commend them.” They lingered for a moment, unexpectedly thoughtful before Wei Wuxian shut the book and slid it back, hidden behind the shelf of scrolls and boring manuals.

    “Alright,” he said, stretching lazily. “What’s next? See if we can find Lan Zhan's secret diary?”

    “Wei Ying.”

    Where Wei Wuxian stumbles upon a receipe for a love potion in the Cloud Recesses' library and decides to make Lan Zhan fall in love with him, though it seems to be taking an awfully long time for the potion to wear off...

    “Lan-er-gegeee?” he sweetly singsonged.

    Lan Wangji, like he had been doing the entire afternoon, immediately looked at him upon being called. His eyebrows raised minimally as he took in Wei Wuxian’s appearance.

    “How about this? Am I still nice to look at, Er-Gege? Do I look cute?” Wei Wuxian asked, sugary and nasally, as he twirled the end of one pigtail around his finger and batted his eyelashes.

    The other didn’t miss a beat.

    “Mn. Very cute,” Lan Wangji confirmed, not seeming flustered at all.

    Wei Wuxian was starting to despair.

     

    (Or: Lan Wangji discovers a method to find out if a flirtatious guy is being serious or just playing and decides to test it on Wei Wuxian. The method? Flirting back.)

    Ever since he was born Wei Ying has been able to see ghosts, but as he gets older he realizes the ghosts’ interference in his life is only getting stronger and affecting him more and more with each passing day. Now a college student, he's desperate to find a way to control his gift, but no one else can even see the spirits that follow him around let alone stop them.

    His bad luck turns around when he stumbles onto a fellow student, Lan Zhan, whose family lives in a nearby temple and practices ancient cultivation techniques. Wei Ying discovers that whenever Lan Zhan is around the ghosts completely disappear. So maybe his family’s cultivation is the secret to a future without ghosts.

    There’s just one problem: Lan Zhan despises him.

    If someone was there to catch him after falling off that tree, that would be wonderful. If Wei Wuxian had waited a little longer in his hug and had not thanked Lan Wangji right away in such a way, he would have found a hand reaching his back. And such a soft display inspired him to try to express the feelings in his heart, with unexpected results.

    “Prrt?” Xiao-Hei says, and stretches, and—

    The weight on Lan Wangji increases abruptly, and his hands aren't touching soft fur anymore, they're touching soft skin—bare skin—and he's looking down into Xiao-Hei's yellow, slitted eyes, though not into Xiao-Hei's little cat face, but the face of a man.

    A beautiful, startled, very naked man.

    Or: Lan Wangji finds himself with a stray cat he didn't want, then a stray cultivator he pretends not to want, and then a stray boyfriend he definitely wants.
