    In a world where women are public property and consent is obsolete, survival means silence. Resistance is a myth. Mothers teach daughters to kneel before they can walk.

    There are no heroes here. No justice. Just the slow unraveling and adapting of a woman who remembers what it meant to be human, while her daughters grow up knowing only free use laws. Her friend Sarah loves free use laws and is helping Beth learn to adapt.
