Summary
Roy was the heart and soul of Richmond’s dragon league team, their heavyweight. Not that he could see it, he was old and broken, just a burden to the rest of them. Refusing to form a bond to a new rider and with an ailing wing joint it seemed as if retirement were inevitable. At least until a new hotshot striker muscles his way into Roy’s life and turns it on its head. Maybe there is just a glimmer of hope, maybe Roy can find a happy ending.

Summary
Jamie shifts a little in his sleep, pressing his face a little further into Roy’s neck as he lets out a soft noise of contentment. The action causes Roy’s heart to physically stutter inside of his chest, his stomach flipping a little and oh. Of course. The last pieces of the jigsaw snap together in quick succession, the image before him becoming crystal clear.
He’s falling for Jamie.
(Roy and Jamie hook up the night of the gala. Everything's fine until it isn't. Somewhere among the chaos, they fall in love.)

Roy is blissfully happy, and hardly even freaked out by it anymore. He’s never had a sure-fire sense about somebody, but the two of them are on fucking fire together, that’s for sure.
Which is why, for the very first time, Roy is challenging himself not to run away.
Even though for some reason, Jamie wants to tell his fucking mum, and all his worst instincts are kicking in.
