Shane had what fans jokingly called online an ‘oral fixation.’ One of the Metros’ girlfriends had sent a video that was just a compilation of Shane putting things in his mouth on camera: Chewing on his mouth guard, biting a pen, gnawing on the strings of his hoodie — the list goes on. Shane wasn’t supposed to find out about it, but Hayden had asked the young guys what the fuck they were giggling about in the corner and they reluctantly revealed the video of Shane. He’d spent a week utterly fixated on trying to stop the habit, but it was hardwired into him by that point.

Shane just got traded to fucking Boston. To where Ilya was. With no apparent fucking reason in the middle of the season. He just won them two cups, why was this happening?

Shane gets traded in the middle of the 2016/2017 season, just before the All-Stars. The Tuna Meltdown never happens and Shane and Ilya amicably decide to stop seeing each other but remain ‘friends’. Both are very ‘happy’ with this decision until Hollander is traded to Boston. Now they must work with each other on the same team while Shane wonders what the hell happened in Montreal to get him traded in the first place. The Boston Raiders learn that Shane Hollander is not a chicken, or a virgin (lol) like everyone believes. And the Metros learn just how important Shane was in winning those cups.
And Cliff Marleau is just trying to figure out why Ilya’s messages to Jane stopped.

Still, he’s felt like absolute shit for weeks, and the idea of sitting in his hotel room, where he would probably masturbate, cry, and have another night of fitful sleep, did not make him feel any better. Getting to be skin to skin with Ilya Rozanov did. And surely Rozanov wouldn’t be demanding Shane make a nest in his damn bed if he didn’t fully intend on actually kissing him in it and keeping him there until morning, right?
Maybe that would be enough to pick Shane up out of this drop, keep it from happening again.
OR
After not sending the "we didn't kiss" text, Shane's omega hormones go into distress mode. Despite trying to hide his symptoms and play through the misery, when Ilya Rozanov finds out what's going on, the alpha Shane's body wants most is determined to fix it.
