Summary
Still reeling from Tony and Natasha's deaths, Steve goes back to 2012, using his knowledge of the future to alter the timeline. This time, they'll stop Thanos without losing anyone. This time, he's going to do things right, whatever it takes.
What he failed to anticipate, however, was developing feelings for the one person who is strictly off-limits.
It should've been simple. All he had to do was keep the Avengers together, save the world, and not fall in love with Tony in the process. Instead, one change after another sends events spiraling off in a new and unpredictable direction. Now, the future he remembers is gone, and his meddling might just cost Tony the very thing he came back to protect.

On the one hand, Tony wished Steve had never told him that there had been something between him and Barnes back in the day, when they never even had the chance to ask themselves "what if"… but on the other hand, it was so obvious that he would inevitably have realised it at some point or another.
They loved each other, it was obvious.
