Summary
Everything played out perfectly; Anon supported Fang and watched her blossom into the person he always knew she could be. Now, it was his turn to make a decision and stick with it.
So, Anon chooses to join the Army instead of college. Five years away from Fang or three? It all seemed so obvious, but in his final year, Anon suffered a traumatic combat injury.
Months later, he's home, and now, he has to learn to live as a civilian in a world where his friends and family are living the best lives they can.
He feels like a foreigner in his own country, and as he watches everyone move on. Anon starts to wonder. Is he just a burden to the woman he loves?
The war is not over, and the more he stays in Volcadera, the more he feels he never left the war. Maybe, in the end, he belonged on the battlefield.
