“You okay?”
Harvey’s voice tore at his skin, and Mike could feel the unwanted barrier of concern ripping and flaking off. Not enough to discard his guilt, but enough to come up for air again.
He lifted his head and met Harvey’s eyes. “Yes, yes—” He looked down at the mug between his fingers. “Just thinking about…last night.”
He noticed Harvey tensing, just slightly, but Mike had watched that man for so many months to notice his tiny motions. Although reading them was still difficult. He hadn’t crossed that gap yet.
Mike looked up to see Harvey’s expression. “Do you…” Harvey clenched his jaw. “…regret it?” Mike was dumbfounded at how pale the man in front of him looked.
“No!” Mike reached for Harvey’s hand. “God no! Not at all. I couldn’t be happier.”
Harvey relaxed. He took Mike’s hand and squeezed. “What’s bothering you, then?” He turned Mike’s hand and kissed its palm. “Tell me, sweetheart.”
OR
Mike feels so wonderful after the night they had spent together. However he starts to feel guilty for always declaring Harvey as cold-hearted. They talk it out.

“Good boy.”
Before Mike could melt from the praise, he felt Harvey’s hand on his sensitive skin. Mike tensed and dragged an arm over his face to muffle his moan.
“Relax, sweetheart.” Harvey’s free hand caressed Mike’s hip. “I got you.”
Sweetheart.
That was new. Mike’s body shivered. That name did unspeakable things to him.

Summary
Mike returned to his desk with the distinct feeling that he’d survived something – which was ridiculous.
He’d been late, Harvey had been annoyed. Harvey was annoyed with him at least once a day, sometimes recreationally. This was not new. So, there was no reason for the strange relief still sitting in Mike’s chest, along with the lingering, sickening adrenaline.

“Well, at the gala. Or is that too late?” Harvey joked.
"And make me change in the bathroom? Really tactful.” Mike huffed.
Rule 3, Harvey, rule 3.
He cleared his throat. “I’m messing with you, rookie. It’s in my apartment. I will get it before I pick you up.” Harvey took another unnecessary peek at his watch. “Relax.” That last part was equally meant for himself.

Harvey has set of rules to keep himself from kissing Mike, but his efforts turn futile at the law firms fundraiser gala.
