Summary
Kai is unexpectedly met with one of the most beautiful smells he's ever encountered.
He pauses to inhale deeply, taking in a big whiff, and he feels like he could melt on the spot. It smells like he's walked right inside an entire bakery, like he's surrounded by loaves of spiced breads, hints of browned butter and sweet honey shining through. It's so warm and cozy, it almost feels like he's walked straight into a hug.
Kai smiles as he breathes it in. It's exactly what he's been needing. A nice, big hug.

Summary
Yeonjun enjoyed the calm he had with Kai. The nesting, the mutual understanding of the biology they shared, the heats. The heats he has spent with alphas were nowhere near as satisfying as the ones he had with Kai. No matter how many knots he takes during one, his body still aches. Something is fundamentally wrong with him. Yeonjun knows this.
Evidently, Kai has worked out how to move on, was able to come across an alpha he enjoyed enough to knock him up.

"Soobinie," His boyfriend whispers to the receiver, sighing tiredly, but then his resignation turns into indignation. "Do you have any idea what time it is?"
"It's a clobbering time, that's what time it is!" Soobin seethes. "Why didn't you call to tell me this shit, Kai?"
"Because I knew you'd be angry," Kai defends his choice of action petulantly.
"For future reference: knowing that what you have to say will upset me is precisely the reason why you should call to tell me, not say it in a goddamn email."
(There is no doubt in Soobin's mind that his relationship with Kai is the most important thing in his life, and instinctively he decides that everything has to make way for them to be together. All Soobin wants for his life is to be with Kai – for a hundred days, even for more than that, he yearned to just be with him again. Why would Soobin ever sacrifice that for a one-in-a-million chance at becoming an artist?
He’s never been so wrong.)
