In this universe, things happen differently: Two weeks after the death of Gol D. Roger, Monkey D. Garp shows up on Baterilla to rescue Portgas D. Rouge and their unborn baby. Take her back to Dawn Island under the pretense of her being an old friend and let her raise the kid on her own terms.
Except that doesn't happen--not quite how they'd like.

Summary
In one universe, Adam is sent through a portal to Oklahoma, where people think he's crazy and not worth much of a second glance. When he returns home, he has no plans of returning to Earth--where he had been alone and ostracized by his peers.
In this universe, a butterfly flaps it's wings: Adam finds himself in a Kansas town called Smallville, sword still lost. But the people who find him, the Kent Family, aren't dismissive of his claims of nobility from a different planet at all. In fact, their son, Clark, is a lot more closer to him than he thinks.
He still wants to return home to Eternia someday, sure. But he can't help but feel at home on Earth, too.

An alternate universe where Garp, instead of waiting fifteen months, went to Baterilla much, *much* sooner.
It was supposed to be a simple thing. Pass Rouge off as an old friend who's husband recently died. Bring her to Dawn to live in his old house. Live apart, cordially, as Garp protects her secrets and Rouge raises the Pirate King's brat peacefully.
Unfortunately for the both of them, that's not what happens.
