But—
June’s never been adept at falling: her feet are too quick, her legs too limber. Bosco fell once, and he takes great pains to ensure it never happens again: he’s not the kind of person to trust anyone to catch him, even after all this time. "As the new school year settles into familiarity, I find myself unwillingly surrounded by an entourage of deluded individuals claiming to be my friends. Wednesday held up a gold-star sticker. Enid let her sentence trail off and stared, baffled.
Slowly, Wednesday peeled it from the backing and stuck it onto Enid's cheek.
