Summary
Angel and Azrael were called back to the factory after 10 years, after receiving a letter telling them to come back. Now getting ready to face Playcare, they’ll face new enemies in the form of old friends to meet their goal: Find their friends, the Smiling and Nightmare Critters, and get them out of there. But things aren’t as they seem when they get to Playcare, as they have to face not one but two feral critters, one more feral than the other. Now they have to run from a larger, angrier Cujo and a purple cat with the ability to knock you out with one puff of smoke.

Copper 9 had no sentient life left, thanks to the humans. AI doesn't exactly flourish, either. The worker drones are constantly under the threat of death, thanks to the murder drones, who were sent to kill every last one of them.
But after Lucifer Morningstar, a seemingly ordinary worker, gets to know a murder drone after an accident, he learns that there's more to this than they thought.
The humans didn't send the murder drones. It was someone - or something - else.
