Dennis looked down at his fingers, then back up at the side of the older man’s face. “Robby, I said I was sorry. I really am, okay?”
Robby took a deep breath through his nose, facing him fully. “Do you understand?”
Dennis looked like he wanted to say something else, lips pursing like he was trying to stop himself from biting.
When he blinks, he rolls his eyes and nods, “Yep.”
“You’re a goddamn brat.” It rips out of Robby before he’s able to stop himself.
