Her other wrist was ensnared within the grasp of Kasane Teto’s thin, clawed fingers — Kasane Teto, who wore a sardonic grin, with her unfolded wings indicating a readiness for a chase.
“You fuck,” Utane Uta hissed. “You know exactly what you’re doing.”
“Hmm? And what is that, Defuko?” Kasane Teto seemed to feign ignorance, made clear through her unchanging eyes even as she swung a hand into the air and lilted her voice in an apparent attempt to conceal her true intent.
