Summary

The difference was that this time Xie Lian was aware of the special feeling he had for Hua Cheng, something that had likely been there long ago, maybe even before their kiss underwater. And last night, behind the disguise of offering assistance, he had taken advantage of his friend.

Summary
The song must have been about halfway through when he felt a soft touch on his head and turned to see Hua Cheng’s free hand gently caressing his hair.
With a small sigh, the ghost took a strand between his fingers and played with it, rolling its ends over the red threaded finger. The white band that kept a portion of Xie Lian’s hair tied in the back was brought forward by the delicate movements and it too got entangled in the other’s hand. As Hua Cheng saw the white band snaking through his fingers his eye creased with longing.
When he spoke it was an almost inaudible whisper. “You really look like…”

After his third ascension Xie Lian is sent on a mission in Ghost City, by the end of the night he finds himself on the dancefloor of a masked celebration caught in the embrace of a very lonely-looking Ghost King. In the effort to keep his mission going, things get unexpectedly steamy but when Xie Lian’s identity is brusquely revealed it is met with nothing short of anguish by Crimson Rain Sought Flower.

Summary
The hand on his head didn't let go. After a while the warm voice spoke again, this time closer and softer.
"Don't worry, San Lang. Everything's going to be fine. I will take care of you." Soft lips brushed over his temple and he started to feel once more the pull of darkness and oblivion. The hand didn't leave him for a moment, keeping its slow, gentle strokes until everything was almost faded.
As he fell unconscious again there were only two sounds swirling in his head. One coming from the room, a low, soft hum lulling him to sleep to the notes of an old melody. The second a single thought repeating endlessly in his mind. San Lang?

“Gege was worried?” He asks.
“Of course I was.” Xie Lian huffs. “You- disappeared! I had no idea if you were even alive, and-”
“I’m sorry.” Hua Cheng answers, and – smiles. What is he so happy about?
Xie Lian’s life is a mess. Hua Cheng’s life is, somehow, even worse. Luckily, sometimes two negatives make an affirmative.
