He always believed soulmates, fiercely for no particular reason expect for the fact he liked that someone was promised to him by the universe. Since he was a kid, ever since his mom had told him about it, he dreamt about it. Of course, he knew now it wasn’t possible, but that didn’t mean his child self couldn´t try at least one. He tried to really focus on someone´s hand and try to imagine a thread coming out of there, with no avail, of course.
He was now an adult, but he still wished he could see it. He already knew it he couldn’t see his own, so that would be okay, but he wished he could see, for example, the one his friend should have. That way, he could have the certain that his friend was right, and the guy he was so head over heels was his soulmate.or

Summary
During what was supposed to be the Easiest Case Ever, Cheng Xiaoshi makes what was supposed to be a teeny tiny mistake.
The results were disastrous. Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang find themselves body-swapped in the present day, with no clear way to switch back.
Lu Guang takes it upon himself to figure this out and fix everything. Meanwhile, the entire situation makes Cheng Xiaoshi think about how he feels about being in Lu Guang's physical form, which leads to questioning how he feels about Lu Guang at all.
Soon, it becomes clear that it isn't just bodies they're swapping. Their hidden fears and insecurities start to unravel within their dreams.

Summary
Cheng Xiaoshi cared about his best friend, Lu Guang, a lot. Probably more than friends were "expected" to do in the eyes of others, considering how strong his feelings were.
That was where the overthinking started. Were his feelings romantic? Was he being too much with his affection, in a way that crossed the boundaries of friendship? In the end, he couldn't find an answer to those questions, and his spiraling began. He wanted to be the most important person to Lu Guang, but he didn't want anything about their comfortable everyday life to change.
But maybe with the help of Qiao Ling and a diving mission that may or may not have hit a bit too close to home, he might be able to figure out the extent of his feelings.
(Basically an exploration of Cheng Xiaoshi's queerplatonic feelings for Lu Guang as he navigates through a hectic day with the trio, and his bumpy journey towards communicating them. Yes, everyone is aromantic here.)

Against his better judgement, Lu Guang tags along to a dorm party. Because he's a good friend. Cheng Xiaoshi's best friend.
Which is why he keeps his mouth shut when he notices that a girl is interested in said best friend, because it's not his business. If Cheng Xiaoshi found a girlfriend here, he'd be happy for him. Truly.
Two glasses and one terrible game of truth or dare later, he turns into the worst wingman possible and risks losing his best friend because of his own stupid actions.
Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't let that happen.--------------
I've emerged from the cold basement after 2 days (sleep happened), bleeding, cramping, on pain meds and coffee, grumpy (37°C outside) and driven by the need to finish this as a checkpoint for my sanity, because it's going out the window once Season 3 drops in a few days. I've never posted something in such a raw, unedited form, but I lack patience and will come back to edit once my period is over.
