Summary
There were wolves here, in the Ministry that he was a slave to, but Draco wasn't allowed to know who. Being the new alpha after the death of his sire, Greyback, he wasn't trusted even remotely. But there were two wolves here, and they belonged to him, even if he'd never been permitted to see them or cross their paths. They called to him on the full moons, locked away in the same underground maze of dungeons, pleading and longing for his love and protection, and he called back, promising they wouldn't be kept apart forever.
Let out on another forced mission for the Aurors to capture dark and criminal magical creatures in the forest (the only thing they trusted him to do), he found himself overtaken by a charm of misdirection, and he was led instead straight down into a deep pit of the earth, trapped and unable to escape.
Some grave oversight of the Ministry, who took such great care in ensuring he never gained access to his wolves, had put them on the same mission, affected by the same charm, and down into the same inescapable hole with him.
The shock of who these wolves were—the worst possible outcome, one might say—was a worthy contender, but would his logical mind overcome his feelings for them?
