He opened his eyes for a second and his stomach dropped. He looked up to see none other than Max Hatter standing in the doorway, gorgeous as ever, staring at him with his mouth agape. Luis is absolutely fucking mortified. Neither of them move for a second, an awkward silence filling the room before Max spoke quietly.

The walk to his new room after he had shaken Pink off of his trail was silent at the very least. They hadn’t told him who his new roommate(or guard dog, to be more precise) would be, but he was a bit excited. Maybe it would be someone he had never met before. Maybe someone who lived under a rock for their entire life and had no idea who he or his father was
Max knocked at the door which quickly swung open.
“Hi! I’m Luis Madrigal,and-,” the tan, sadly familiar, boy shut up after seeing Max. He seemed dumbfounded.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Luis said.

Max blinks. "I mean, I guess I am technically not." He frowns. "Why?"
"Uh," Luis rubs the back of his head. Maybe it's Max's imagination, but he looks nervous. "Would you want to join Red and I on an outing?"
"An outing?" Hazel blinks. "You sure have interesting words for a date."
Luis flushes red. "Its not a date! It's an outing among friends."
"Back on the isle, we just call that a date."
Luis blinks. "Do you not have friends on the isle?"
"No," Hazel responds deadpan. "You have those that are above you, and those that are below you."
"That doesn't make sense; you most likely,"
