Summary
“Right.” Auric traded his notebook for the file, leaning against the desk. “What do you need from me, then? Surely your associates are more capable of killing a vampire than I am.”
”I’ve been tracking Lefevre for years now—he knows of me, of my operation.” Beckett replied. “Your anonymity is most valuable in this case. Alongside your affinity for supernatural studies, I have faith that you’ll come closer to helping me end his reign than anyone could.”

Summary
The Where: Lake Superior National Forest, Minnesota, USA
The When: September 2008
The Who: Senior Law Enforcement Ranger James Norrington, a man very much convinced his life no longer has any real meaning
The What: a murder most foul
Or…at least that’s what he's hoping it is. Because, though his superiors seem convinced it’s a wolf attack, James simply cannot accept it. It’s his job to advocate for the wilds, after all. He has nothing else left. And he refuses to let his pack take the blame for this.
Something is rotten in the Arrowhead Northwoods, corrupting the last bastion he’s carved out for himself after fleeing Washington in disgrace ten years ago, his career over and his heart shattered.
And James suspects the lone rider he keeps spotting on the periphery of everything has something to do with it.Bookmarked by Clearpurpleskies
