“W-What happened?” he asked, licking dry lips and tasting grit. When he tried to spit, he found his mouth was too dry for that too, and that the attempt made his ribs flare with pain again, though not as bad as before.
Still, it was enough to steal the breath from his lungs, and Shouta had to fight against the urge to cough — he had a feeling it wouldn’t go any better for him.
“Yeah,” Oboro continued, his voice close by. “Maybe don’t try that again? I have some water, I’ll give it to you soon. As for what happened… You don’t remember?”
Shouta shook his head and instantly regretted it. “No,” he answered through gritted teeth. He tried to rack his brain for an answer, but could only come up with fragments: sunlight, a loud warning, and then, louder rumbling.
:: Shouta finds himself stuck under a collapsed building. Oboro keeps him company.
