Summary
For a long time, the 141 has been exclusively birds.
This isn’t by design; a lot of those that choose to go spec ops are birds, or particularly well-suited breeds of dogs and cats, the occasional mustelid and, for one particular mission where they’d had to house a foreign unit, a very inconvenient bull. Usually, though, it’s animals that are good in small groups as well as large ones, groups that can form flocks and packs and colonies, respectively.
They are a flock, mismatched and odd though they are, and Ghost has always assumed that, should they welcome a fourth into their unit, for a trial run or otherwise, their prime candidates would be other birds.

I love fics like these, I'm not sure what to even call this type of AU. I've always referred to it as the “familiar AU”, but Soap’s animal being a kingsnake is so interesting to me. I was Simon, I couldn't see how a snake would fit someone like Soap but when Soap explained it it's like everything just clicked into place and now I'm like, “Yes, yes Soap IS a kingsnake”
And it's so frustrating how Simon truly doesn't realise how your familiar can reflect on your person.

Summary
Dragons were an insular, reclusive species. Hunts of old drove them to the brink of extinction, leaving the few remaining clans with a well earned wariness, if not outright fear, of the world at large. They stayed hidden, either far from prying in the wildest regions of the world or in plain sight. Most of the rest of the world knew very little about them, aside from the sparse rumors and folklore that remain from days of old, and the clans were happy to keep it that way. The less the outside world meddled in their affairs, the happier they were.
That said, one thing was well known and documented about dragons: possessiveness was written in their blood.
Or, John "Soap" MacTavish is a dragon. Task Force 141 is his hoard. This changes everything, and nothing at all.

Avery, the optimistic humanoid slime, was returning from her latest tournament of Bedwars. Thanks to her pet ghast, Bubbles, they eventually 'meet' a stranger during their ride way back home. Little did Avery know, she was going to eventually befriend the stranger and spend lots of time with her and yet... A danger would creep upon the duo, which poses a threat to their lives.
Or in other words, slimy woman eventually falls in love with a hot woman knight, vice versa, but they go through so much stuff
