    Summary

After the final battle with Chuck, Jack pulls Castiel out of the Empty, but brings him back completely human.

He is not prepared for it. He has no idea how sleep works, his new human senses are overwhelming, and the simple weight of existing in a body exhausts him.

Neither is Dean. He is losing his mind trying to navigate domestic life with a freshly human ex-angel who suddenly has feelings, a sleep schedule, and zero personal space boundaries.

And somehow, between exhaustion, bad coffee, and too many unspoken things, they start building something neither of them knows how to name, but both of them refuse to let fall apart.

    Summary

Two decades of performing the role of a functional adult is a grueling amount of work for anyone. For a disaster-waiting-to-happen like Dean Winchester? It’s a constant, white-knuckle strain of self-restraint. He needs Ozempic for the soul or some shit — a pharmaceutical-grade suppressant for his worst impulses. Instead, he has a dead father and a renovation project.

Going back home to sell the family place was supposed to be about fixing up a house, not a total identity collapse. But that best-laid-yet-not-thought-through plan is currently circling the drain for the sake of a bad habit named Castiel Novak. While Dean’s husband, Benny, is preoccupied with the aesthetics of domesticity, the guy they hired to do the roof (coincidentally, the love of Dean’s life) is busy reminding Dean exactly who he really is.

Dean knows logically that he should be protecting the life he built. Turns out, he’s holding the door open for the man who’s going to demolish it.

    Summary

“You have been through so much, Dean. And somehow, nothing scares you more than letting yourself be happy. The world is still here for you, because of you. I hope one day you’ll finally reap that reward and stop punishing yourself. I’ll always be waiting.”

Losing Castiel is the worst thing that has ever happened to Dean. Somehow, it just keeps happening.

Castiel is saved from the Empty; Dean finally faces his own feelings – and has to suffer the consequences. He’s lost his angel more times than he can count, but this time, it could hurt more than ever.

How do you overcome a lifetime of repression and self-hatred when it’s been slowly rotting into your heart for the better part of 40 years? Dean doesn’t know, and he certainly doesn’t have time to work it out – not while the Empty is trying to reclaim Castiel.

    Or

Dean and Castiel play gay chicken, but Dean is under threat of losing his angel forever unless Team Free Will save him for good.

    Summary

26 year old Dean Winchester wakes up on a bunker floor with a knife in his hand and no memory of the man in the doorway who just whispered his name like it’s the only word he has left.

Five years after the world stopped trying to kill them, Dean and Cas have built something they never let themselves hope for. Coffee burnt mornings, bad jokes, a life that finally holds still. Then a cursed hourglass does what apocalypses and archangels couldn’t, and rips it all apart. Present day Dean is thrown back to 2005, twenty years into his own past, and the Dean who lands in his place has never heard of Castiel, never given up hunting, and sure as hell never fallen in love with an angel, who was dude-shaped.

Now Cas has to survive a version of Dean who doesn’t trust him, flirts with every waitress in a thirty mile radius, and looks at him like he’s the strangest thing he’s ever seen, while somewhere in 2005, a Dean who remembers everything is running out of time, running from his father’s worst instincts, and running headlong toward the ritual that might get him home, back to the man he loves.

Nine days. One hourglass. Two versions of the same stubborn Dean Winchester.

    Summary

I may be ice. As frigid and deceptively fragile as frost at dawn—an apt crown for aphelion of the tantalising warmth that has ever tempted but never thawed me. Yet I’m also summer. Mesmerising menace masked by mirth, debauched bearer of every earthly delight, purveyor of such luminescence that I rival Sol, although I’m damned myself to gloom that only a half–denizen of the Void can know.

He may be fire. As fervid and dazzlingly ferocious as wildfire at zenith, subjugated to the furious tempest that rages within him, mercilessly as surf ravages scar, demanding immolation on a protean pyre—for whom does he burn tonight? Yet he’s also winter. Winsome woe of reckoning, scourge to the sublime and dread of the decadent, although all he covets in these worlds are the halcyon days he’s due.

We are both creatures of contradictions. It’s why we understand one another. But it’s not lost on me that ice and fire cannot mingle without the frailer’s demise, that summer and winter never meet anywhere but the Ice. We tried for temperance.

    We failed.
