For Ariadne it ends and starts like this: the face of her sister in a white and jeweled dress, her sweet voice whispering out loud the things she had know the day Cesare took her at his side and never looked at her again, the sharp flick of steel in her neck severing the weight of all her life driven by love to crash down in wet straw and her own blood.
Her eyes opening in an impossible place, the echo of a sweet voice in her ears and the choice to go forward in her own way.
For Prince Alfonso it starts with a booming voice in the Chapel, a brilliant mind and entrancing green eyes (or before with sunken cheeks and a ripe apple).
But it ends the only way it could.
(Or: Ariadne takes some desperate measures to ensure her engagement to Cesare is never fulfilled.
