“I don’t think so.” She poked him with the barrel in the direction of the others down the beach. “Move, or don’t try anything stupid again, or I’ll put a lead ball in your gut.”
“All right, all right.” Raising his hands, Johnny allowed her to push him down the sand. Suddenly dying of starvation or thirst wasn’t the most worrying option on his mind. He’d heard horror stories of men drafted into pirate crews and the atrocities they had to endure. Some of it he was sure was made up for dramatic effect, and the rest he was fairly certain were downplayed to be palatable for polite company. “That’s not very ladylike.”
“Not a lady.” She jabbed him again. “And sarcasm is dangerous when you’re not holding the pistol.”
“Ow. Noted.”

Liu remained silent for a moment, then seemed to make a decision. “Sonya, I want you to come with me.”
“What?”
“Just trust me.” He waved a hand and a blue portal shimmered into existence. “It will only take a moment.”
Practically every time someone had ever said that to Sonya, her life had exploded, but it didn’t feel like the right moment to point that out. Instead, she took a deep breath and followed him through, unsure of what to expect on the other side. She half expected to find herself in Liu’s living room, or whatever he counted as one, but instead she found herself in a dimly lit cave, not unlike the one the Jinsei pools under the sky temple.
It was tranquil and totally dominated by the massive hourglass that sat at its centre, the grains falling in a slow steady stream from top to bottom. “Liu?”

"Second chances.
If someone had asked her a year ago if she thought she and Johnny would find their way back to each other, she would have asked them if they were on drugs or had suffered a head injury. If they had told her she’d be in a bridal shop in Beverly Hills, trying on dresses for her second wedding, she’d have told them exactly where to stick it.
And yet here she was, with her daughter, goddaughter, and best friend waiting in the outer fitting room. Hell, Johnny had been so excited she was going that only Jax stealing him away for a bachelor trip to Vegas had stopped him from being there too. She couldn’t really blame him; the first time around she had insisted on wearing her dress uniform. Now, with everything that they had gone through, with how many times she had used her uniform to hide from her feelings, she had no desire to repeat and wear it again. If this was to be a new beginning, Sonya wanted it to feel like starting over. Something she wasn’t sure they could or should do completely, but taking the risk was worth it."

"Rolling over, she grabbed her phone off the nightstand and toggled the camera. Sitting up slightly, she could capture a good photo of Johnny sleeping peacefully in the morning light.
It was a gesture decidedly unlike her, something she had in fact glowered at Johnny for before. He was always the one with his phone in his hand capturing candid shots: her on the treadmill, walking on the beach, even at the range with her rifle in hand. She, on the other hand, was a bastion of privacy, and that’s what she was capturing. A private moment, something she could look at when she was feeling alone, or hopeless. Something to remind her that she had someone to come home to. It was an age-old tradition for soldiers to carry pictures of their sweethearts; this was the modern version.
With his tousled hair and a dusting of dark stubble across his cheeks, he looked so real, so good, that it made her heart constrict. It was easy to walk out into the world and plan to save it. It was even easier to forget that a large part of her world was here in bed. In the end, home was her last stop of the day, and the best part of it would always be that Johnny was there, waiting for her."

Sonya hesitated, and Janet wondered if she had asked her to a hotel and not her home if that would have happened. “You should know beforehand, I’m looking for something deep here. If you want some fun tonight, I’m game but that’s where the line is. This isn't going to be something where we hook up and then we start playing house right after”
“I think I can live with that.” Janet tipped a finger under Sonya’s chin. “But just so you know, if we hit the sheets, I’m going to make it so good you’ll never want to leave.”

Summary
Astarion calls Halsin back to Baldur's Gate, saying there is a situation that requires Halsin urgently. On arrival, Halsin finds out that Tav is six months pregnant and furious at him for not letting her go with him post-victory. Now Halsin must mend the damage he accidently created.
"“Astarion, tell me you didn’t insist on me coming to try and convince me to go to that party. I already told you no.” She was chatting on her way in, smiling but her voice was firm and her hand extended. Astarion winked across the room to Halsin as he slipped the drink he’d prepared into Tav’s waiting hand.
“Would I ever try to convince you to do something you don’t want to, my dear? Honestly, Halsin, she’s being quite naughty already and she doesn’t even realize you’re here. Shall we tie her up for old time’s sake?” His silvery eyebrows arched and Astarion’s mouth rose in a smug smirk. Before Buffy jumped to her death in “The Gift”, she slept with Spike. When Willow resurrects her, she essentially re-animates Buffy’s dead cells – including Spike’s sperm, traces of which are still in her body.
In other words, not only does the spell resurrect her, but it also gets her pregnant.

Summary
After Liu Kang defeats the One Being and sunders the realms once more, the consequences ripple out for the warriors who fought to survive.
In Between the Ridiculous and the Sublime, Sonya Blade has lessons to learn about life, love, and identity: it turns out sometimes pushing through the pain alone isn't the best way to recover. When she learns to accept help and how to bridge the two warring sides of her heart, she finds things might actually be easier with someone else to rely on.
In Legacies of Memory and Dust, the consequences of family play hard for Kitana and the twice-orphaned Liu Kang as they recruit two friends to help manage the royal wedding and the worry of a nascent resistance. Johnny, bored and desperately dodging conflict with his narcissistic father, is ready to plan parties and do whatever it takes to prove he can hack it in the OWIA as a diplomat. Especially if it means foiling a rebellion, bouncing between realms, and confronting his own emotional baggage around what makes a family.
