Summary
As John's preparing for the wedding, Sherlock is preparing to have his heart broken, and Mary is prepared to do the unthinkable. Intervention required. Enter Sherlock. Set before Sign of Three with a far different outcome. John is drugged, kidnapped, and left on an island, but not just any old island. Third person limited John POV
Written for Fangirlsays for the 2019 Fandom Trumps Hate, who asked for some kidnapped John Whump and Toplock.
A thousand thanks to recently_folded for the incredible beta work on this story. She not only edited my mistakes, she helped shape the Pacific-paradise setting, Palmyra Atoll. She also added depth to whole boating experience (which I knew zilch about) along with humor ("Frustration, ahoy!"). Thank you!

Summary
To Sherlock’s dismay, John’s return to Baker Street with Rosie is only temporary. Sherlock’s daily visits to Regent Park with John and Rosie illuminate his lost childhood memories and missed opportunities. But with each trip to the park, Sherlock also feels a growing sense of hope. That is until the past horrors return unexpectedly in a cryptic note folded in the shape of a heart. To decipher the message, Sherlock must uncover the nature of the hearts around him, including his own.
Post S4. First person Sherlock POV. Case fic.
Written for Fandom Trumps Hate (which needs our support now more than ever before) and for the talented bluebellofbakerstreet, who requested some BAMF John busting in and saving the day along with fluff, because, um, BAMFs are softies at heart (and that's exactly what this story is about).
Thank you so much to hotshoeagain for the incredible beta, advice and suggestions. You are a star.

Summary
Excerpt taken from Chapter 10:
We are the ill-fated sons of glory, dear brother. Mycroft had said that before, hadn’t he? The recollection was swirling, misty. Mixing crudely with the gray fog that had been creeping down the rickety attic stairs all day. Infiltrating his mind with fear. Unreal, most likely. The pirates you so used to admire had notoriously short lives.
Victor certainly hadn’t lived for long. Redbeard, he’d liked to be called.
Mind palace Mycroft. I thought I told you to go away. You’ve already said all of this.
Is it not still relevant?
Sherlock didn’t bother to answer. It was, in fact, not relevant. Dying this way – if that were indeed to be his fate – would involve no regret. No introspection. It is what it is. I’ve fought for good. I know I have. On the side of the angels.
This fic is technically the third part of a series, but it stands alone as well. NOTE: The title was changed from "Genius is a Star Whose Light (is Soon to Sink in Endless Night)", just because it was ultimately too unwieldy.

Summary
"It’s only when his hand reaches the bottom that Sherlock comes upon the journal. It’s quite simple, a dark brown cover with a magnet to lock it. It’s heavy in Sherlock’s hand and by the state of the binding, it’s been used quite a lot. Sherlock is surprised at first; he doesn’t remember John keeping a journal. "

Set during HLV, when John stays with Sherlock until Christmas.

Summary
They had arrived more than a hour ago, and the moment they had walked inside the hotel reception, John had understood why Sherlock hadn’t wanted to come. Two men, posh suits and expensive watches on their wrists, had come to greet them with sharp remarks and badly hidden mockery, and John had seen red. Sherlock hadn’t said anything, mostly ignoring the two men entirely, and without thinking twice about it, John had slid an arm around Sherlock’s waist and introduced himself as his husband.
