“I just need a minute, Jeongguk.”
There it was again, the full names. Jeongguk hesitates, obviously going back and forth between options. His hand twitches as though to reach out to Yoongi, and he decides against it, pulling it back and cradling it by his chest. His eyes flicker to the skewers laid out on the brown paper bag, oil leaking in and leaving dark stains on it before he just walks out the door empty-handed. Grabbing his umbrella, he mutters a barely audible, awkward “sorry, hyung,” before he leaves.
Yoongi just watches him go, not knowing what to think.

“Now. You can speak, right? I heard you earlier.”
Jungkook cleared his throat. “Yes, Caretaker Park,” he said quietly.
“Firstly, you should call me Jimin.”
That… didn’t sound right. Jungkook glanced towards the glass wall again.
“Eyes on me. They won’t hear you unless you want them to, right? You have to press a button for them to hear you.” Caretaker Park’s eyes shifted towards the speaker button next to Jungkook’s bed. “It is nice of them to give you at least that much privacy. My name is Jimin, Park Jimin. And I’d like you to call me Jimin.”
“I can’t,” Jungkook whispered.
Or, for years Jungkook has only known his daily routine, the sometimes changing Caretakers, the needles, the tests, that is his normal. But it is all to keep him safe. The outside world is dangerous, you see, they tell him, the outside world would destroy him. Or he could be a danger to the outside world. And Jungkook believes them. Why wouldn't he? They keep him safe. That is until a new Caretaker arrives and makes him question everything he thought was true.

“Well,” Namjoon thought, “Best-case…you agree that being a virgin is stupid and then we do something about it.”
“And if I don’t agree that being a virgin is stupid?” Jungkook inquired.
“Then you keep being a stupid virgin,” Namjoon mumbled.
“Good chat,” Jungkook told him.

Summary
In this age, feral hybrids are the biggest threat to the existing population. Societies have crumbled under the spread of the virus, taking one hybrid after the other. Jimin, an alpha wolf, can feel himself slipping. While he wants nothing more than to survive the scourge, he is terrified of hurting the ones he loves. So no matter how badly Jimin wants to give in to his desires regarding a certain human scientist, he fights his instincts and remains at a distance. Which begs the question: is Jimin running from the virus, or is he just running from himself?
In which Jimin is a stupid alpha male, and Jeongguk just wants to save him.
