“So I can seem like a pathetic kid?” Stiles scoffs. “Yeah, great idea.”
“I think it’s cute,” Kira tells him. “Very sweet.”
“Sweet,” Lydia agrees, “but not sexy.”
“Sexy?” Scott says, screwing up his face. “Why would we want to be sexy in front of Derek Hale?”

At this point in Stiles’ life, there are an overabundance of ways that he has imagined he could die.
I.e. Demon possession, asphyxiation, torture, blunt force trauma, poison, getting bit and his body rejecting the bite, drowning, bleeding out, ending up as collateral damage in an all out pack war, getting hit by a car or a bullet, developing the same disease as his mom...
But by some cruel twist of irony, hypothermia had never made the list.

Derek stares down at Stiles’ face, the only part of him not swimming in black fabric, and feels stunned as he takes in the features he hasn’t seen in years. The last time he had seen Stiles, the last time Stiles had come here, he’d been wide-eyed and baby-faced, freshly sixteen with a Spark’s Mark flaring to life inside him. He’d been terrified. Now, his face is all sharp angles and definition, matured and molded into a man. And even unconscious as he is, Derek has a hard time imagining anything terrifies Stiles now.
