This is a total rewrite/rework of Voltron: Legendary Defender from top to bottom, beginning to end, with the aim of telling a better, more fulfilling, well-rounded story using the pieces provided by canon, along with some original concepts and major changes. Basically, same cast, same premise, different writer (who is taking it way too seriously)
As this fic is a darker take on the plot/setting of VLD, please be aware it may contain subject matter that is potentially upsetting or triggering and elements that may bear resemblance to real-world atrocities. No allegory to any specific event is intended, and I've done my best to tag the broad strokes of what to expect, but please proceed with caution.

The Yellow Paladin noticed his best friend’s unusual silence and calmly asked, “Hey man, you okay?” And Lance just grunted before continuing to eat. Hunk stayed quiet for a bit and added, “Is it Galra Ke--”
Lance smacked his hands down onto the table and stood up straight, “Can everyone stop treating Keith like shit?!” And everyone jumped and whipped their heads up at Lance, seeing his quick breathing.

Lance is tired of the team being racist towards Keith for being half-Galra. He snaps at them and goes to comfort Keith who desperately needs to know that he's cared about.

“Keith?” Lance asked, still a little surprised that the voice coming out of his mouth wasn’t his own. Lance saw himself turn abruptly at the sound of his name.
“Lance?” He heard himself...er...Keith say. “Why are you me? What the fuck is going on?”
“Why would I know?” Lance replied defensively. “I just woke up like this!”
“Well switch it back!” Keith yelled.
“How am I supposed to do that?!” He shouted back.

Summary
What if Keith already knew he was part galra. Maybe the sudden fur, ears, tail, eyes, and teeth transformation when he was younger made him understand he was different and people would be scared of him. Though its fine, he can always transform back. Except for the random placements of fur. Thank goodness he can hide it. But not for to long.
Out in space just after voltron allied with the blade, Keith Vitiligo skin started turning purple. Uh oh. He knew he couldn't hide it forever and decided that instead of hiding his skin he should hide his whole self.
After worring his team. Lance decides to barge into his room, it took him a while to process what he saw, but he didn't care anymore, a lot of strange things have happened. Lance drags Keith out and to the kitchen to get food. Big mistake. Everyone is there. Even the fellow blades.
