“Who the hell is this?” Bakugou snapped, his tone sharp as ever.
“Good evening, Katsuki,” came a smooth, measured voice from the other end of the line. “My name is Doctor Jonah Vogelbaum. I hope I’m not interrupting anything important.”
Bakugou’s brow furrowed. “Never heard of you. What do you want?”
“I represent Vought International, in the United States. We’ve been monitoring your progress closely, particularly your… unfortunate injury,” Vogelbaum continued, his voice dripping with a mix of professionalism and something else Bakugou couldn’t quite place.
“What’s it to you?” Bakugou’s grip tightened on the phone.
“I’m calling because I believe we can help you, Bakugou,” Vogelbaum said, his words calculated and precise. “We’re aware of the damage to your arm. While you’ve healed remarkably well, I’m sure you’re aware that it’s only operating at a fraction of its previous capacity. That must be… frustrating, to say the least.”
