Summary
“So what? You say you’re ‘cool’ with me, but actually seeing me kiss a guy crosses the line?” Will resisted the urge to cry. He was supposed to be angry, not sad, but the thought of Mike abandoning him cut into his chest.
“What? I’m not–Of course not, Will. I would never think–Of course not.”
Mike looked genuinely upset by the accusation, and Will almost felt bad. Almost.
“Then please, Michael, tell me, what is your problem?” Will found himself moving closer, though he wasn’t sure why. Maybe some part of him wanted to challenge Mike, call him on his bullshit. If he was going to be weird about Will being gay, Will wasn’t about to go out of his way to make him comfortable.
“I just don’t like being left out, okay!” Mike admitted, throwing his hands up in surrender.

Summary
“I—I would tell you.” He says reflexively, but he doesn’t take it back. The words are true. He hears Mike’s breath catch and his hand twitches. “I just wouldn’t want you to– to pity me. Or see me… differently.”
“I would never.” The response is instant. “You’re strong. I’d never pity you. I… god, how do I explain?” Mike turns his body to face Will head on and grabs his hand properly. Will feels a shiver run through him, but he squeezes back all the same. “I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry, for what you’ve been through, whatever it is. But it would never, never make me look at you differently.”
“Promise?”
“I promise."
Or: Will breaks down after the events at the MAC Z and trusts Mike to help him pick up the pieces.

Summary
Mike doesn’t mean to look, he never does. But today his eyes kept drifting, dragging to every inch of Will as if they’re led by something low and ugly and needy. Mike thinks it's because he spent all of today by Will’s side, just the two of them while the rest of the party was busy, but he knows it's more than just that. It's been building up, and he feels gross and worn down from the constant battle he has against himself.
But Will…Will looks lighter. He eats absentmindedly, talks with his hands and smiles a large grin that shifts his mole. Sometimes it feels like something heavy was cut away from him cleanly and all that remains is a neat, closed stitch, without an infection.
Mike hates how obvious it feels by comparison.

Summary
Now that Will’s sitting and Mike’s the one that’s standing, he looks impossibly tall. Tall and lanky, and huge. He should sit back down, Will thinks, lay back down next to Will and stay in their own secluded little bubble.
“I really want to kiss you,” Mike says, and Will’s eyes snap back up to his so violently he thinks he hears his own neck crack with the force of it.
“Don’t,” Will croaks, before his brain has even processed the words. “Don’t say that.”
“Okay,” Mike says easily, still staring. And what the actual fuck is going on? Is Will hallucinating? Is the weed making him hallucinate? “So sausage and pepperoni?”
Will stares dumbly at him. “Um - yeah. Yes.”
“Cool,” Mike replies and then just turns around and leaves Will sitting dumbly in his own room.
