Summary
Having hanahaki disease or the "unrequited love" disease was different for ghosts.
The flower rotted your soul until it drained all your energy, resulting in disappearing from existence.
When Crystal appeared and Charles noticed her, Edwin never thought he would start coughing up translucent flower petals.

Summary
“Colin already thinks that I have entrapped him- he said so himself… and I cannot bear for an innocent child to get intertwined into his hatred of me. I have lived with parents that despise each other and I cannot bear the thought of me preserving that vicious circle…” Penelope’s voice breaks, but she continues anyway
“So, I beg of you- Not as Lady Whistledown, but as Penelope, your friend, help me escape.”
-
After Colin’s entrapment accusations and a shocking revelation, Penelope decides leaving would be the best for everyone involved.
No matter how much it breaks her.(Also there will be a Penelope and Lady Danbury friendship like in the books- because why the hell would they skip that in the show?)

Summary
"For as long as he’s known Charles, there’s been a familiar lump in his throat. It’s as if there’s this constant blockage in his throat, making the action of breathing quite odd. Ghosts, of course, don’t need to breathe yet the action still occurs anyway. Human instinct, he supposes."

Summary
Edwin turns away with a deep breath, ignoring the fluttering in his stomach. His non-existent, ghostly stomach. It seems so ridiculously cruel and on theme for his current situation. Not only is he in love with his best friend, and not only does his best friend not love him back, but he’s feeling things that he shouldn’t be feeling on top of things that he physically should not be able to feel.
or
The gang is back in London. Niko is gone, Crystal is on the cusp of a breakdown, Charles is still a flirt, and Edwin is... trying his best.
Oh, and he keeps feeling his pulse. As a ghost. A very dead ghost.
The trouble really never ends.
