Summary
After finishing a commission in the Outer Ring with Wise, Belle finds herself walking back from the van only to see the Sons of Calydon's upper ranks lounging about atop Blazewood's cliff face. More specifically, she sees a girl - a town local - give Lighter a love-letter before running off, and overheard the gang questioning as to why he never accepted a date or opted for relationships.
Once she got Lighter alone, Belle finds out the real reason he never took people up on the dates: Lighter, due to those he was raised and lived around, didn't know how such a relationship would work, especially in regards to dating. So, admittedly for self-indulgent reasons, the long-time crushing Belle decides to take Lighter out on 'pretend-dates' for 'research purposes'. Lighter, of course, agrees!
But, as Belle later finds, such a reason may not have been the entire story.

Summary
The Proxy siblings have been invited to Settlement Days by the new Overlord of the Outer Ring. But Belle has an ulterior motive in attending-–to find out if Lighter’s nonstop flirting is all talk, or if there’s something of substance underneath all that bravado.
Meanwhile, trouble lurks over the desert horizon, and the undefeated Champion stands alone between Blazewood and its imminent destruction. Though perhaps he's no longer as alone as he once thought.
A.K.A., Belle has a problem, and his name is Lighter.

Summary
