    After graduation, a quirkless Izuku Midoriya takes a teaching position at U.A. and tries to build a life that no longer revolves around becoming a hero. Then a few underground fights turn into investigations, and investigations turn into Kuro, a vigilante dismantling criminal networks faster than the heroes can identify him. The problem is that the task force assigned to catch Kuro includes Katsuki Bakugo, the childhood friend Izuku never quite stopped loving. The deeper Izuku slips into Kuro, the harder it becomes to separate the two as he slips into an obsessive, depressive, spiral that leads into self-harming and addiction.

     

    At the same time, Hitoshi Shinso is disappearing into an undercover identity of his own, becoming entangled with the same criminal world Izuku is trying to tear apart. Both of them are living double lives, relying on masks that feel increasingly difficult to remove, and as their secrets begin to overlap, the line between hero and criminal starts to collapse.

    How much of the system is worth protecting? How long can Izuku keep his identities separate? And when every secret begins costing the people closest to him, will he still recognize the person behind the mask?

    (*So this is a two year time jump, where I completely mess with canon and timelines in order to age up the characters. In this AU, hero courses start at the age of 18 once school is finished, because who thought training 16 year olds to be heroes was a good idea in-universe? So U.A is more of a college type deal.*)
