Summary
“It smells nice,” Hiromi looks tired but content when he walks into the kitchen. He’s holding his briefcase in one hand and a bag from the bakery by his office in the other.
“French onion,” Kento says. “You bought bread?”
Hiromi hums an affirmative. “I had them slice it, too.”
“Good.”

Summary
It’s dark and loud where Macen is and for the longest of times he sees no way to end it or escape. Static surrounds him and moves through him like a record skipping over and over playing the same note in an endless loop. It hurts in a way he cannot comprehend and in his thoughts there’s only pain and a name that keeps him going.
“Avi.”

Or the one where Macen dies but his mind might or might not be trapped inside Avitus' SAM. -

Joel nods solemnly next to him and Grian frowns. "Now hold on. About that. I don't remember agreeing to the ‘Babe’ part."

Summary
“Joe didn’t lie back in that lab,” Booker tells him gently. “I am selfish. I am a liar. But beyond everything else, Nicky, I’m a coward.”
“Really,” says Nicky, looking unimpressed.
[Booker tries to save his family from Quynh. He's rather good at it, if not a little dramatic about the entire process. In the meantime, he learns a little more about himself, his family, and the definitions of bravery, forgiveness and love.]

Oughhh, this one goes straight to the re-read pile.
---
Sanji laughs. He looks at Zoro and he’s bright and amused and fucking beautiful, and then he drains his bottle. He makes a face when he’s done.
“I think I’m done playing, Moss-head,” he says, standing up on wobbly legs and leaving Zoro cold and alone.

Summary
“So,” says Zedaph, several beers down and a little bleary-eyed with it. It’s two in the afternoon, but science waits for no man – science, in this case, being an experiment to answer the vitally important question of which of these many extremely cheap beers taste the worst. Anything counts as science if you write it down, and Zedaph’s got a book and everything. His handwriting had deteriorated significantly between beer two and beer five, admittedly, but it’s fine. “Tango. If you don’t mind me asking– what are you?”
(Zedaph attempts to get to the bottom of the mystery that is Tango Of The Tek Variety. It goes about as well as you'd expect.)
