Agatha forces her own lips to match the grin on Rio’s face. She releases the breaks of her chair and wheels herself closer to the woman she's known for about twelve minutes, placing her hand on Rio’s knee to mirror the earlier gesture. “Twelve years and counting."

“Agatha Harkness,” Rio said, voice flat as she watched a sly smile spread across the woman’s face. “What are you doing in my town?”
Agatha pouted, stepping closer to Rio with an exaggerated swing to her hips. “My town,” Agatha mimicked, affecting a low husky growl that wasn’t close to accurate. “Sorry Toto, didn’t realise you’d pissed on this place.” She paused, glancing around with a scrunch of her nose, “Explains the smell, though.”
Meeting her eyes with an unimpressed stare, Rio sighed, “You know that reference is dated, right?”
“It’s a classic,” Agatha dismissed, with a quick wave of her hand. “Besides, if we’re talking dated, only one of us here was around for the invention of the wheel.”

Rio is a werewolf who has finally settled into a peaceful life after nearly 1000 years. Agatha, her vampire ex-… something, is being pursued by the Salem Seven, and shows up to disrupt it.

Summary
Agatha was born on land, but she was raised in the sea. As a mermaid, she had one very important rule: do not interact with humans.
But Agatha has never been very good at following rules.
Naturally, she gets caught up, literally, by a fishing boat and meets probably the most beautiful human she's ever laid eyes on.
Rio had always had an interest in sea life. Her father was a fisherman, so it was only natural that she follow in his footsteps, listening to his stories of the mythological creatures that live below the surface.
Her favorite stories are those of the mermaids though she knows that they're made up...or are they?
When her fishing boat catches a mysterious (and beautiful) woman miles from shore, she starts to believe that there may be some truth to her father's stories.
