Roque, too busy fighting off the storm of butterflies in his stomach, blurts the first word that comes to his head, no thought or plan behind it: “The mall.”
“The mall?” There’s a confused lilt to Sebas’s voice but his face remains unchanged. “Do you need to buy something?”
And, oh. Roque immediately feels silly.
Sebas doesn’t think he means it as a date and Roque can’t exactly blame him. That’s a suitable date for sixteen year-olds, not two grown, adult men in the early stages of a relationship. He could’ve at least said theater!
It’s too embarrassing to clarify he means as a date, so he lies.

“I fucked up and now I’m going to look like a fucking psychopath if you don’t walk back with me to that booth covered in flowers and tell the very nice lady that we are on our honeymoon.”
