Summary
Jayce Talis is down on his luck. After a horrible accident during his final semester at college that caused him to lose his scholarship and drop out entirely, he couldn't take the pressure to return to life as normal, and instead ran. From home, from his mother, and from everyone he knew.
He's been hitch-hiking across the country for almost eight months, relying on nothing more than his savings account and anyone willing to give him a ride. It's cowardly, but he's too far in to turn back now.
That is, until his card declines at a gas station. Realizing he's out of money, he starts to consider going home to face his mistakes - until a stranger, Viktor, offers to pay for his food. And maybe offer him a job.
Really, Jayce just doesn't want to go home.

Summary
“I would like a child.”
Jayce certainly didn’t choke on his own saliva and drop the waffle on the table. He also didn’t nearly tip his coffee over in a panic, holding his hands up in some gesture of surrender. “Woah!”
or:
Viktor wants to be a dad. Jayce also wants to be a dad, but anxiety :sparkles:

Summary
It was done.
For the second time in the world, Viktor was dead.
Jayce expected… something. Rage. Grief, maybe. Some sort of world-shattering fit of despair, heavy enough to bring him to his knees and scatter the little bit of sanity he’d held onto with both of his hands. Anything to fill the gaping hole in his chest.
Instead, there was nothing. For a long, single moment, all he did was stare. Viktor did not stare back. The void, so well known and so well loved, finally did not meet Jayce half-way.
TL;DR: Jayce in the moments after he kills Viktor in the commune. He does not take it well.

Summary
Viktor recounts, briefly, his final thoughts in the Arcane. He's going to die - he knows it, Jayce knows it, and there's nothing they can do to turn back now. It's a sacrifice of company that neither can let go of.
At least Jayce is with him. That, above all, is the only thing that matters.

Summary
“Viktor! You came!” The joy in Jayce’s voice was almost enough to wince at.
“I promised I was coming,” Viktor replied. His tone was apologetic as he added, “preparations took… ehh, a bit of time.”
Jayce could tell why. Viktor’s face was framed in a thin layer of make-up, brushed on enough to give the impression of a clean slate. It brought a tinge of red to his cheekbones and a bold to his eyes that Jayce had trouble tearing his stare away from.
“Well, you look…” Jayce hesitated for a moment, trying to place the word. “...You look good.”
Or, Jayce invites Viktor to a gala, Viktor shows up horribly late, and they decide to take the final dance. (and maybe kiss at the end)
