An apostate. A mutant. A piece of flotsam that should have been reclaimed by the sea. Hirudo would readily confess to being all such things, and they would always do so with a sardonic grin. At least, until now.
Long have they lived in content and ignorant exile, until the whispers of distant kin reached their ear, foretelling of things to come on the distant shores of Higashi. And so the exile sojourns to a land that is both familiar and strange. To meet distant kin who are likewise both familiar and strange.

Summary
With his world having fallen apart Batman is sent spinning through dimensions only to find himself stuck in one that is difficult for him to navigate. Let no one say that the Batman goes down easy. The only thing that matters is the mission. The fact that his parents are alive here doesn't matter.
They aren't his parents anyway and he is not their son. Not really. Or, that's what he keeps telling himself.
