Incomplete but still a very good story about an alternate universe that seems very interesting! Something tells me that Elizabeth would have been a social(ite) butterfly if she'd lived in the main series but Evan and Michael have both been largely a mystery to me, until now.

He’d never really believed the stories of saints and martyrs coughing up flowers. That was something that happened a thousand years ago, the words inked in Latin scripture on illuminated pages, not to now, not to him.

Summary
An awfully vague mission description causes Nero and Dante to be gravely underprepared for a fight. Instead of facing off against some weak lesser demons, they are greeted by a strange type of Angelo that even Dante wasn't sure existed. When the demon outsmarts them, Nero is prepared to protect Dante at any cost. Even if the cost is his own life. He's not exactly thrilled when Vergil is the one to show up at the last second to turn the tide and allow them to escape.

Or: Nero takes the bullet for Dante and Vergil saves the day and finally tries to be a good father - with mild success.
