Summary
Rebel command requires all minors associated and involved with their day-to-day operations to complete an academic assessment to ensure the children involved with the Rebellion receive a fair education. From Hera’s understanding, the assessment estimates where the Rebellion can provide resources to try improve skills or provide supplementary education, and provides important insight into some of the strengths or weaknesses of the individual. Unfortunately for her, Ezra doesn’t see it that way. Formal education was a privilege he was never lucky enough to have after his parents were taken, he had to rely on instincts and street smarts to guide him through his life.

“Hurtful,” Ahsoka observed. Then, glancing over: “Strap in, padawan. I’m starting our landing sequence. There’s…someone I want you to meet.”

Time traveling Jedi padawans was a new one, Grey had to admit. But this particular time traveling Jedi padawan just happened to be the padawan of his own baby Jedi commander, Caleb. So, obviously, Ezra should be with them.
Ponds disagrees. Clearly, Ezra should be placed with his own battalion and be with his great-grandmaster. This has become a point of contention between the two clones, and now neither can come to an agreement on who Ezra should go with.
Grey’s hands clenched into fists. “Ponds. You know I like you.”
“And I like you too.”
“You know I have a lot of respect for you.”
“Of course.”
“So please don’t take this the wrong way when I say, kindly, shut the kriff up.”

In the moment, though, Sabine only really knew this: one blink she was sitting at the controls of the Phantom, just barely processing that she and Ezra were about to die, and the next she was spaced, a brilliant dot of light exploding a few clicks to their left, where the Phantom had just been. Where she had just been.
There was something very strange about being spaced. Even with her helmet and armor protecting her from the nastiest—and deadliest—parts of the experience, the still, chilly silence incited an odd suspension of time. It felt as though it took hours for her to recognize that the firm weight around her waist was Ezra’s arm—that she was still very much not alone—but it could have only been milliseconds.
She turned her face back to Ezra in a daze. He looked smug, which she expected, but also strangely… apologetic? Another millisecond. Realization.
Sabine was wearing her helmet. And Ezra wasn’t.
