    “You don’t remember us mentioning that that plot of land above your place was bought?” Blue asked as Ronan left his coffee on an upright barrel and slid his feet into his work boots, “We’ve been talking about it for at least a week or so. My mom restored the old farmhouse so it was liveable.”

    It rang a bell, but Ronan had a lot on his mind, so he just shrugged.

    Blue and Noah settled onto the bench on the porch and watched as he started getting his tools ready.

    “A new farmer’s moving in. Moved in, I think. They got here yesterday and just had to move their stuff in.”

    “Okay.” Ronan said, shouldering a hoe, “And?”

    “And it’s a big thing!” Blue insisted, “When’s the last time someone moved to the valley, huh?”

    “That forest girl.” Ronan said immediately, “That was like last year or something.”

    “Leah? Ronan, Leah’s been here for five years.”

    He shrugged again, “So?”

    “God, you’re no fun to gossip with. A new person moves into the town that no one moves into and you couldn’t care less.”

    "Keep working," Ronan says, right up against Adam's ear. Despite the heat in the garage, the blonde hair on Adam's arms stands up straight, goosebumps dotting his skin. Ronan uses his left hand to rub the chills on one of Adam's arm's away, keeping his right hand firmly on Adam's now slick penis. "Just ignore me."

    Adam nods, humbled into silence. As soon as he readjusts slightly to continue his work, Ronan begins stroking him.
