Summary

Alora Maxwell has known Violet Sorrengail for her whole life, and the two have been inseparable. Where one goes, the other is close behind. So, when Violet is forced into the Riders Quadrant of Basgiath, Alora is right there with her. Whilst not as disadvantaged as her best friend, Alora has been training to become a Scribe for her whole life, so adjusting to the likelihood of death every day is a big jump for Alora.
Which is not made any easier by Xaden Riorson, who despises her from the moment they meet. Or does he? She should hate him. She knows she should, but Gods, he makes it hard.
