"It's alright to feel overwhelmed," she reminded him gently. "I know how it is. There's no need to force yourself, Alyosha."
Alyosha laughed, turning his head a little bit to rest his cheek against the crown of her own head. "I'm not, believe me! It's just that…sometimes I really can't believe it, you know?"
Truth be told, she couldn't believe it either most of the time.
Odette finds Alyosha smoking in Mitya's kitchen in the middle of the night, plagued by the too good to be true reality of his life because of the three of them.
