Eddie made a strangled disbelieving noise, expression flickering. “You are not apologizing to me right now, for like, feeling a normal way about stuff. I can’t believe you.”
Steve pushed a shaking hand through his hair. His heart rate no longer in his ears meant he felt he could at least think a little more clearly. “Maybe it was the heat. Doesn’t always have to be something messed up, right?”
Eddie gave him a placating nod. “Sure, heat exhaustion is a helluva thing.”
It had been happening a lot recently. The… forgetting. Zonking out. Whatever. He was pretty sure he was just extra exhausted, it had been a few weeks since everything but it might have just been the adrenaline or something finally wearing off. Sometimes it was like he just forgot someone was speaking, or couldn’t remember for a moment what they’d been talking about. Like blinking out of a fog maybe.
It does not get better, in fact, it actually continues to get worse.

Summary
After Alucard's betrayal by Taka and Sumi, he's determined to isolate himself in the castle, driving away any who might seek him out. When Sypha and Trevor reappear on his doorstop, however, haunted by their own troubles, he agrees to let them stay. Together, the three of them might be able to heal one another's emotional wounds--if they can convince Alucard he deserves it.
(In which Sypha and Trevor return to the castle right after the events of s3.)

“Please?” Felix smiled faintly. “A warm one. Somewhere with soft sand, and no purple skies.”
Chan looked like he was about to cry, but he smiled back anyway.
“Of course, baby,” he whispered.

Summary
“Channie,” Hyunjin says, a hand on his shoulder. “Let me see, okay?”
He plops into Chan’s lap and he's too weary to protest, just drops his jaw for Hyunjin’s fingers. Hyunjin makes no pretense, goes directly for Chan’s inflamed venom glands and presses down firmly, swiftly.
Before, it'd make him gag, make his entire mouth pool with venom that burned to swallow down. Now, though, there’s hardly a trickle, and Hyunjin frowns.
“It’s a lot, to turn a fledgling,” Chan explains, wrapping an arm around his waist and dropping his head to his shoulder. Hyunjin’s fingers scratch through his hair soothingly. “I turned you and Seungmin back-to-back, and they haven't been the same since then. Then turning Jeongin and healing Felix—it'll take a while.”
“Old man,” Hyunjin mumbles with a significant amount of fondness, brushing his lips through his hair.
Or: Chan can't seem to stop acquiring fledgling vampires, and it's going to become an issue.
