    “Agh!” Nico falls back in pain, clutching his wounded arm.

    Jason wobbles to his feet. He looks at Nico through hazy eyes, pointing his sword directly at Nico’s chest. “How the hell do you know my name?”

    “Strangest thing,” Will said, pulling an orange container out of the box. On its side, it read Arm and Hammer, Baking Soda in thick white lettering. “Both Annabeth and Percy swung by a few minutes ago, talking about the exact same thing—glass in their hands! The both of ‘em! Isn’t that interesting?”

    The glass beaches in Tartarus...Nico thought.

    The added weight of the situation only made matters worse the moment the blunette discovers he had something growing inside him. Initial thoughts involved a tumor, or some form of parasite, before it was found that it had a heart beat.
    Years of raising his curious daughter, Diane and scraping by with just the minimum; was a hard life on its own. As time passes and Diane grows into a strong adolescent, things begin to quickly take a turn for the small family- for better or for worse.

    Jason lets himself look at this Nico. This Nico can't mind—wouldn't mind—right? He's old and grey and he can't possibly care about the feelings of a twenty-seven year old kid who’s been dead for thirty years.

    “I—” Jason falters. He feels a rush of pained gratitude for Nico’s husband, for the man who helped Nico’s eyes become so much warmer as he got older. “I wish I could thank him.”

    Nico tilts his head. “Thank who?”

    “Your—your husband,” Jason manages, his throat dry and sore, aching. “For taking care of you. For protecting you.” Jason ducks his head, unable to look Nico in the eyes anymore. “For making you happy.” The last part comes like it's wrenched from the back of his throat, whispered and strained. For making you happy when I never could.

    somehow meeting Percy's great-granddaughter who is also Frank and Hazel's great-granddaughter who is also Jason's niece is not the weirdest thing that's ever happened to them. also, pining.
