    Ilya chuckles, putting a hand on the back of Shane’s neck, and Shane lets his eyes fall shut for about 3/4th of a second. For that microscopic moment in time, with Ilya’s hand on him and the streaming lights gone, the club’s atmosphere is almost tolerable.

    When he opens his eyes again, Ilya’s face is soft and concerned. He drags a thumb through the back of Shane’s hair, saying we can leave anytime without actually saying it. 

    Or: Shane's been gay for 30 years now. He figures it's time he visits his first gay club.
