Animal blood definitely doesn't smell like this. It's ravishing, he could imagine it feeling electric on his tongue.
Fledgling blood.
Fledglings aren't supposed to bleed. So the fact that he can smell this really young vampire's blood and, in fact a lot of it, doesn't really sit well with him.
Chan is not surprised at seeing an attack on open ground. Their clothes are soaked in red and thorn. The older vampire shoves the fledgling to the ground, the vampire doesn’t react to his presence when he gets closer, too occupied ripping skin apart, the young vampire makes a startled sound, and Chan feels a burning anger he hasn't felt in centuries, completely unwelcomed, coming back.
So, against his better judgement, Chan makes himself known.

I think my body is totally brokenOkay so, uh, this is really the worst way to phrase this but that’s just how I feel. Broken. And not in a cringy way but in a very literal, so fucking backwards you wouldn’t believe it, type of way.

But family is family and shady businesses are shady businesses, so what if his new husband absolutely despises his guts?
